Jeffrey W. Huge, CMT is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of JWH Investment Partners, an independent investment advisory firm with a focus on generating positive alpha.

My flagship publication, ALPHA INSIGHTS, provides subscribers with dozens of actionable long and short trade ideas each month.

By way of background, I studied economics at the University of Minnesota, and later earned an MBA from the University of St. Thomas. For the first 25 years of my investment career, I worked in equity capital markets for several top tier investment banks, primarily on the institutional sales and trading desks.

During that time, I had the privilege of working with a number of distinguished technical analysts including Bob Farrell, Alan Shaw, and Louise Yamada, to name a few. With the benefit of their influence, I developed my own expertise in technical analysis, and eventually earned the CMT designation.

In 2014, I moved to the buy-side at the behest of a long-time client – another well-respected technician by the name of Steve Leuthold – who invited me to join his firm to co-manage a global macro hedge fund. During that period I was primarily responsible for shaping and managing the short book using a purely quantitative and technical methodology.

In 2018, I launched my own firm with the intention of trading solely for my own account. But after a few months, I received so many inquiries from former clients and colleagues seeking my advice, that I decided to begin publishing my views as a subscription service.

My work utilizes both quantitative and technical analysis, and emphasizes the value of relative strength and momentum. More specifically, it focuses on the change in relative strength as measured by its own momentum.

Each week, I publish my ALPHA INSIGHTS: Weekly Playbook report, which includes a fresh list of long and short stock ideas procured from the S&P 1500 universe. I present all of my ideas and conclusions utilizing a combination of technical and quantitative analysis, with concise commentary and intuitive data visualization techniques designed to clarify the decision-making process, while highlighting trade set-ups with specific profit targets and stop loss budgets in order to help my clients manage risk and generate positive alpha.
